The disabled and the poor are expected to sit back and let MPs vote. Witnessing the rise of homelessness, stories of disabled people taking their lives. People who are working cutting back their food intake so that the food they get from the Foodbank stretches further.
Let’s say that again, while people who are elected representatives can get their lunch and dinners paid, there are people on low wages starving. How is that a country for everyone? While some MPs make glib comments, there are people in the 6th richest economy, who work, starving.
Being on the fence in these debates isn’t an option and neither is being an MP elected as a Labour MP, propping up this poor excuse of a government. Now the rumours are rife that there certain Labour MPs who will stand with May. Theresa May’s government is single handedly screwed up the negotiations with Europe.
Austerity is horrible. But leaving the EU is going to make things that much worse. If rumours are proved to be true about a medications shortage, inhalers and insulin being delayed in transit will prove to be deadly. Those who haven’t been murdered by Austerity could be killed by shortages in urgent medications.
We have no confidence in May’s government, why should we. We need need Labour to stand up and stop Brexit until we can verify that those who need medications can continue getting their supplies, that we will be able to get food to hungry children and parents.
The duty of our MPs is to protect us from fatal folly. If they believe that we will be worse off, it is their duty to vote against the deal. If MPs fall in line with Theresa May, then there is one word to be used to refer to them, Traitors! We need to make sure that these Traitors know full well that they will be deselected. Immediately.
