Have a look around, stop being sheep!

Disabled people are continuing to be targeted by the Tory government even while the whole Brexit debacle is going on. What Brexit has done, is to provide the perfect smokescreen to the torture it is levelling on us. Subtle changes to benefit amounts, the continued rollout of the broken Universal Credit programme, insufficient funding of mental health support and the rest, has continued the march to suicide for the desperate.

It seems people can’t see past their anger at the EU. We wish people could focus on the smoke and mirrors the government are using to cover this campaign. The case of Jody Whiting is one of the latest case of just one person driven to taking their own lives. There is a petition circulating now for people to sign and we would encourage everyone to sign it.

How broken is a system when an appointment missed due to serious illness isn’t allowed. Every claimant is treated as a criminal attempting to circumnavigate the DWP’s benefit scheme. How many times do we have to prove the minuscule amount of fraud in benefits? Is it any wonder that disabled people experience brown envelope fever (by the way, the DWP has twigged and now will send out the occasional letter in white ones)?

The normalisation of the ideals of the far right has made people callous. We have been driven to worry about us and our families than those less fortunate than ourselves. Because of the mainstream media’s vilification of those on benefits, we no longer care about those who are vulnerable. Those with severe mental health issues driven out onto the streets as homeless are dying out in the cold.

Young people are resorting to suicide in there despair. When will we wake up to see that this dystopia can be stopped. Only if people stop being sheep and put their collective feet down will any of this hatred stop. How can those who donate to charities outside this country allow the government due the same to the disabled in this country.

Wake up, stop hating, stop being fooled by the Mainstream media, the Tories and UKIP. Disabled people are not the enemy the government tell you they are. They are your Gran, your cousin, your brother or sister and they are crying out for your help. Will you take off your blinkers and see what is really happening. It’s not the immigrant, or the EU that’s the problem, it’s the government under the conservatives hiding behind the lies.
